Development Supervision
What is Development Supervision?
Why does your child need Development Supervision?
Development supervision can help prevent a problem from getting worse if it is in its early stages. For example, open bites are typically caused by thumb sucking and pacifiers and if we’re able to notice a problem, the habit can be kicked to prevent the open bite from getting worse. Space maintainers can be used to prevent crowded and crooked teeth from developing. Our goal is to provide your child with a full, beautiful mouth no matter their age.
What makes your child a good candidate for Development Supervision?
What can you expect with Development Supervision?
Development supervision is as simple as monitoring the growth and development of the teeth. This is done with the help of an exam as well as x-rays. X-rays allow us to see the permanent teeth coming in underneath the primary, or baby, teeth. We will recommend orthodontics if it is needed as your child’s permanent teeth begin to come in. There are many other treatment options that may be suitable to keep your child’s teeth looking straight and uniform. Your child will benefit greatly from routine development supervision performed by Dr. Chris.
